Stepping Into October With God: You Don’t Have to See the Whole Staircase 🤍

 

Dear Grace for Moms family,

Here we are… October 1st. 🍂🤍

Another month has arrived.

Some of us are stepping into October with excitement.
Some are stepping in with unanswered prayers.
Some are carrying worries from September.
Some are simply tired and wondering what the next few weeks will look like.

Maybe you had plans for this year that haven’t happened yet.

Maybe there are prayers you’ve been praying for months.

Maybe you’re looking at your life and thinking,

“I thought things would be different by now.” 🥺

But today, I want to remind you of something simple:

You don’t have to know everything that October will bring.

You just need to take the next step with God. 🤍

🌿 Look at the Staircase…

Think about the image above.

The woman isn’t standing at the top of the staircase.

She is still climbing.

She can’t see everything that is ahead of her.

But Jesus is there, holding her hand. 🕊️

And isn’t that how life feels sometimes?

We can see where we are today…

But we don’t know what tomorrow will bring.

We don’t know what next week will look like.

We don’t know which prayer will be answered first.

We don’t know which door will open.

We don’t know what God is preparing behind the scenes.

And honestly?

That’s okay.

Because faith doesn’t always mean knowing the whole path.

Sometimes faith simply means saying,

“Lord, I’ll take the next step with You.” 🤍

🍂 October Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect

Maybe September was difficult for you.

Maybe you cried more than you expected.

Maybe there were financial worries.

Maybe your family situation wasn’t what you hoped.

Maybe motherhood exhausted you.

Maybe you felt distant from God.

Maybe you made mistakes.

Maybe something you were praying for still hasn’t happened.

Please don’t enter October believing that you have to suddenly have everything figured out.

You don’t.

You can enter this new month exactly as you are.

• Tired.
• Hopeful.
• Confused.
• Waiting.
• Healing.
• Believing.

Just come as you are. 🤍

🪜 One Step at a Time

Sometimes we become anxious because we want God to show us the entire staircase.

We want to know:

“What’s going to happen?”

“When will this change?”

“When will my prayer be answered?”

“Where will I be by the end of this month?”

But perhaps God is saying:

“Don’t worry about the whole staircase. Take today’s step with Me.”

You don’t have to solve October on October 1st.

You don’t have to solve your entire life today.

You don’t have to know how everything will work out.

Just take the next step.

Pray today.

Trust today.

Do what you can today.

And leave tomorrow in God’s hands. 🕊️

📖 A Bible Verse for October

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6

I love this verse for the beginning of a new month because it reminds us that we don’t have to understand everything before we trust God.

Sometimes the path only becomes clear after we take the next step.

💭 Can I Ask You Something?

As you step into October, what are you carrying in your heart?

Maybe it’s a prayer. 🙏

Maybe it’s a dream. 🌷

Maybe it’s a family concern.

Maybe it’s something you’ve been afraid to tell anyone.

Maybe it’s simply this:

“God, I don’t know what October will bring, but please walk with me.”

Peace?
Healing?
Provision?
Direction?

Don’t compare your staircase with someone else’s.

Someone may already be standing at a place you desperately want to reach.

But their journey is not yours.

Your steps are yours.

Your timing is yours.

Your story is yours.

And you don’t have to rush because someone else appears to be ahead.

Keep walking.

One prayer at a time.

One day at a time.

One step at a time.

And when you don’t know where the next step leads…

hold onto God’s hand. 🤍

A Short Prayer for October

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we step into this new month, we place our lives in Your hands.

We don’t know everything October will bring, but You already know every day ahead of us.

Give us strength for each step.

Give us wisdom when we don’t know what to do.

Give us peace when we feel anxious.

Help us trust You even when we cannot see the whole path.

And when we feel afraid, remind us that we don’t have to walk alone.

Walk with us through every step of this month.

In Jesus’ name,

Dear beautiful woman,

You don’t need to see the whole staircase.

You don’t need to know everything that is coming.

You don’t need to have every answer.

Just take the next step.

Jesus is already there with you. 🤍

So step into October with faith.

Not because you know what the month will bring…

but because you know Who walks with you. 🕊️
