A True Friend Brings You Closer to God

Dear lovely mommy,

There are seasons in life when we realise something quietly, without any drama.

Not everyone who walks with us is meant to walk with God alongside us.

And that realisation doesn’t come from anger.

It comes from growth.

For the past two days, I was busy with a family function. Life was full — people, conversations, responsibilities. Yet somewhere in between all that noise, one truth stayed with me:

👉 The people who truly matter in our lives are the ones who draw us closer to God.

Not closer to gossip.

Not closer to fear.

Not closer to comparison.

But closer to peace, faith, and truth.

When Friendship Feels Good… But Doesn’t Feel Right

We often measure friendship by how long someone has been with us.

But time alone is not the proof of a true friend.

Some friendships make us feel happy, but slowly pull us away from prayer.

Some friendships feel comforting, but weaken our faith.

And some friendships are loud, but leave us spiritually empty.

A true friend doesn’t need to preach to you.

She doesn’t need to quote verses every time you meet.

But somehow, after talking to her,

you feel lighter.

You feel calmer.

You feel closer to God.

That is not accidental.

That is God-ordained friendship.

A God-Centered Friend Changes Your Direction

A true friend:

She may not have all the answers. But she points you back to the One who does.

Sometimes she says,

“Let’s pray.”

Sometimes she simply listens.

And sometimes, she stays silent, but stays present.

That presence itself becomes prayer.

Losing Friends Is Not Always a Loss

This is hard to say, but it is true.

When some people slowly drift out of our lives, it doesn’t always mean rejection.

Sometimes it means redirection.

God removes certain connections not to punish us, but to protect our spirit.

Not everyone can walk with you into the next season God is preparing.

And that’s okay.

Letting go doesn’t mean you failed.

It means you’re growing.

Friendship That Leads You to God Is a Gift

If you have even one friend who:

  • Prays for you
  • Respects your walk with God
  • Encourages you to trust Him
  • Brings peace, not pressure

Then pause today and thank God.

Because that kind of friendship is rare.

And it is precious.

A Gentle Reminder for Today 🤍

Ask yourself softly — not with guilt, but with honesty:

Do my friendships strengthen my faith?

Do they help me become closer to God?

Do they bring peace to my spirit?

If the answer is yes, cherish them.

If the answer is no, trust God enough to release them.

A Short Prayer For You:

Lord,

Thank You for the friends You place in my life.

Teach me to value relationships that bring me closer to You.

Give me wisdom to let go of what pulls me away from Your peace.

Surround me with hearts that love You,

and help me become that kind of friend to others.

Amen.

The right people in our lives don’t replace God, they point us back to Him.

If someone helps you grow closer to faith, peace, and hope ,that friendship is a quiet blessing.

Hold it with gratitude.

With love,
