π Day 6 — Do Not Be Afraid: When God Meets You in Your Fear
Christmas Series — Grace for Moms
π Hey My dear Sister… can we talk heart to heart today?
Before writing this blog, I sat quietly for a moment…
Tea in my hand… soft lights on… house still… and I whispered:
“Lord, I’m afraid today.”
Have you ever had one of those days too?
Where fear feels louder than faith?
Where your heart feels heavy…
Where your mind keeps imagining worst-case scenarios…
Where you don’t want to show it outside, but inside you’re trembling a little?
If yes — my sweet friend — you’re not alone today. π€
We all face fears:
π Fear about our children
π Fear about finances
π Fear about our future
π Fear of failing
π Fear of disappointment
π Fear of the unknown
π Fear of sickness
π Fear of being hurt again
π Fear of things falling apart
Fear comes quietly.
Sometimes suddenly.
Sometimes slowly.
Sometimes unexpectedly.
Sometimes daily.
And guess what?
You’re not weak for feeling it. π
You’re human.
π Today’s Scripture:
Luke 1:30
When the angel appeared to Mary, he said:
“Do not be afraid, Mary. You have found favor with God.”
Isn’t that beautiful?
Before telling her the plan…
Before speaking about the miracle…
Before revealing her calling…
God FIRST addressed her fear.
Because He saw it.
God doesn’t move past your fear — He speaks INTO it. ✨
π Fear shows up where calling begins
Think about it…
π️ Zachariah heard from the angel: “Do not be afraid.”
π️ Mary heard: “Do not be afraid.”
π️ Joseph heard it in a dream: “Do not be afraid.”
π️ The shepherds heard: “Do not be afraid.”
π️ Even the wise men received divine warnings.
Almost EVERY moment in the Christmas story begins with this sentence:
✨ “Do not be afraid.” ✨
Why?
Because fear arrives at the doorway of destiny.
Fear tries to stop what God is trying to start.
Fear attacks when heaven is about to move.
Your fear is not a sign that God has abandoned you.
Your fear is a sign that something holy is happening.
πΌ Let’s be honest for a moment…
What is making YOUR heart anxious lately?
π “What if I can’t handle everything?”
π “What if things don’t change?”
π “What if I’m not enough?”
π “What if I get hurt?”
π “What if this prayer never gets answered?”
π “What if my situation gets worse?”
You know what fear does?
It creates stories that God never wrote.
But God whispers something different over your heart today:
“Fear not. I am with you.” π
✨ Fear is loud — but God is louder
Fear shouts:
➡️ “You’re alone.”
God whispers:
➡️ “I’m right beside you.”
Fear says:
➡️ “This won’t work out.”
God says:
➡️ “I will work all things for good.”
Fear says:
➡️ “You’re too weak.”
God says:
Fear says:
➡️ “You’ll never get through this.”
God says:
➡️ “You WILL — because I will carry you.”
Fear lies.
God never lies.
His Word still stands.
π A Gentle Thought for Today
Mary was young.
Mary was ordinary.
Mary had questions.
Mary had fears.
But God chose her anyway.
Why?
Because God doesn’t choose people who have no fear.
He chooses people who trust Him through the fear.
Courage is not the absence of fear — it’s faith moving anyway.
π✨
And you, dear mama, are braver than you know.
π₯ What if God is calling you to something new?
Maybe He wants you to…
✔️ Trust Him deeper
✔️ Release something
✔️ Start something
✔️ Forgive someone
✔️ Let go of a burden
✔️ Believe again
✔️ Rest in Him
✔️ Step into a new season
And maybe fear is trying to stop you.
But God is saying today:
“Do not be afraid. I am with you.”
π―️ Christmas reminds us that we are never alone
When Jesus came into the world, His name was:
✨ Emmanuel — God with us.
Not “God far away.”
Not “God watching from heaven.”
Not “God helping from a distance.”
But God WITH us.
With YOU.
In your kitchen.
In your thoughts.
In your fears.
In your tears.
In your prayers.
In your waiting.
In your night seasons.
You may FEEL alone… but you are never alone.
π Let’s do a little heart check together
Ask your heart gently:
➡️ “What am I afraid of today?”
➡️ “What is stealing my peace?”
➡️ “What fear am I hiding from God?”
And then allow Him to sit with you there.
You don’t have to hide your fear.
You can bring it into His light.
Jesus never shames a fearful heart.
He comforts it.
Prayer for Day 6
Dear Jesus,
You see every fear in my heart.
You know the silent worries, the heavy thoughts, and the places I try to hide.
Today, remind me that You are with me — fully, completely, faithfully.
Where I am afraid, give me courage.
Where I am anxious, give me peace.
Where I feel weak, give me strength.
I place my fear into Your hands today.
Amen.
π Today’s Reflection Activity
Write this somewhere you can see it:
✨ “God is with me. I will not be afraid.” ✨
Say it slowly.
Say it often.
Say it until fear breaks.
With love,
Anisha.
