🌟 Day 5 — A Mother’s Expectation: When God Grows Strength Inside Your Waiting

Christmas Series — Grace for Moms

Hey beautiful mommy… 🤍

Can I sit with you for a moment today?

Not as a writer… not as a blogger…

But as a fellow mother who knows the weight of waiting.

Waiting for answers.
Waiting for healing.
Waiting for peace.
Waiting for change in your children.
Waiting for stability.
Waiting for clarity.
Waiting for your heart to feel whole again.

Waiting… truly changes you, doesn’t it? 😔✨

And today, as we move into Day 5 of this Christmas journey, I want to invite you into the heart of a woman who understands waiting more deeply than any of us:

Mary.

A young mother.

Carrying a miracle she didn’t fully understand. Walking through a season she didn’t choose.
Saying “yes” to something she couldn’t control.
And expecting something far bigger than her abilities.

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? 🥺❤️

🌸 Mary didn’t just carry Jesus — she carried expectation

When the angel told Mary she would bring forth the Savior, she didn’t say:

🚫 “But I’m not ready.”
🚫 “But I don’t know what to do.”
🚫 “But the timing is wrong.”
🚫 “But I am scared.”

Even though she probably felt all of those things.
Instead, she simply said:

✨ “Be it unto me according to Your word.” (Luke 1:38)

Sister, read that again slowly.

Mary didn’t understand the full picture.
She didn’t know the path ahead.
She didn’t know the pain she would face.
She didn’t know the miracles she would witness.

But she trusted the One who knew everything.

🌿 Expectation is not about understanding — it’s about trusting

This Christmas, maybe you’re expecting something too — a breakthrough, a healing, a shift, a miracle…

But maybe fear is whispering:

💭 “What if it never happens?”
💭 “What if I’m hoping for nothing?”
💭 “What if God forgets me?”
💭 “What if things don’t change?”

Sweet friend…

expectation is not foolish.
Expectation is faith in action.
And faith is precious to God. ✨

Mary didn’t know HOW God would do it.
She simply believed He WOULD.

And that belief moved heaven.

🌠 A mother’s heart carries both fear and faith — and God sees it

As moms, we wake up every day carrying emotions no one else sees:

💛 concern for our kids
💛 fears about the future
💛 hopes for our home
💛 silent prayers whispered while cooking
💛 tears we hide while doing laundry
💛 dreams we keep buried because life feels heavy

God sees ALL of it.
And He understands a mother's heart.

Do you know why?

Because God chose to enter this world through a mother.

He honored motherhood by stepping into it.

That means your mother-heart matters deeply to Him.

Your expectations, even the tiny ones hidden under exhaustion, matter deeply to Him.

🌌 Mary’s expectation created room for a miracle

Before Jesus was born into a manger,
He was first carried in a woman’s womb.

Before the world saw Him,
a mother felt Him move.

Before shepherds worshiped Him,
a mother held Him close.

Before heaven celebrated Him,
a mother believed Him.

Sometimes what God is doing starts inside you before it ever shows outside you. ✨

This is why expectation matters.

It prepares your spirit for what God is bringing next.

🕊️ What if the waiting is not empty — but sacred?

Waiting changes you.

It softens you.
It humbles you.
It strengthens you.
It teaches you to trust.
It deepens your roots.
It prepares your heart.

And sometimes…

God grows the miracle inside your waiting.

Just like Mary.

You may not see the miracle yet,
but something is forming.
Something is moving.
Something is aligning.
Something is growing silently within you.

✨ If God planted it in your heart — it WILL come to pass

Mary didn’t force her miracle.
She simply carried it.

You don’t have to force your miracle either.
You just have to carry expectation.

Carry faith.
Carry hope.
Carry trust.
Carry peace even when everything is confusing.
Carry the belief that if God started it — He will finish it.

Because His promises NEVER fall to the ground.
Not then.
Not now.
Not ever.

💛 Sister, what are YOU expecting today?

A breakthrough in finances?
Healing from pain?
A home filled with joy?
A future filled with clarity?

Whatever it is… bring it before Him today.

Write it.
Whisper it.
Pray it.
Believe it.

Because God honors expectation.
He always has.

Prayer for Day 5

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for the gift of expectation.

Thank You for the example of Mary — a mother who trusted even when she did not understand.

Grow faith inside my waiting.

Strengthen my heart where fear tries to settle.

Help me carry hope the way Mary carried the miracle.

I surrender my expectations to You, believing that You will fulfill every promise in Your perfect timing.

Amen.

📝 Today’s Reflection Activity

Write this in your journal or phone:

“If God planted it, He will bring it to life.”

Then list ONE miracle you are expecting from God this season.

Carry it with faith.

With love,
Anisha.
