Teaching Our Children to Turn to God First

Teaching Our Children to Turn to God First

Because the world doesn’t have the answers — but God always does.

The other day, my daughter came home from school quiet and heavy-hearted. She didn’t say much, but I could tell something was bothering her. I gently sat beside her, hugged her close, and asked,
“Do you want to talk to Jesus about it first?”

She nodded.

So right there, in the corner of our room, we knelt down and prayed. No fancy words, no perfect sentences — just her soft voice whispering what hurt, and asking God for peace.

That moment? It reminded me what parenting is truly about.
Not just homework. Not just feeding. Not just bedtime routines.
But teaching our children where to go when they feel lost, overwhelmed, or afraid.
Not to the world. Not to trends.
But to God.

📖 Bible Verse

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
— Proverbs 22:6

This isn’t just a promise — it’s a gentle calling for every parent.

A Short Prayer For You:

Dear Lord,

Please help me teach my child to lean on You, not just when things are easy,

but especially when life gets heavy.

Let our home be a place of prayer, peace, and Your presence.

Amen.

You don’t have to be a perfect mom — you just have to be a praying mom.

So the next time your child feels heavy…
Don’t rush to fix it.

Pause. Pray. Let God do the healing.
