Not Every Crown Sparkles — But It Still Means
It was fancy dress day at school.
One mom had made a cardboard castle with glitter, feathers, and even lights ✨๐ฐ
My daughter wore a simple outfit and a paper crown we made late the night before — after I finished all the cooking and cleaning ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐งน
When I saw the other kids shine, for a second, I felt like a failure.
Was I a bad mom? Did I not try hard enough? ๐
But then I saw my daughter smile — so proud, so confident. She didn’t see what I lacked.
She saw what I gave with love.
And that’s when I realized —
Being a good mom isn’t about Pinterest-worthy crafts.
It’s about presence, not perfection.
๐ It’s in the way we hold their hands when they’re scared
๐ It’s in the way we make their favorite dosa after a long day
๐ It’s in the bedtime stories, even when we’re tired
So let’s stop comparing our behind-the-scenes life with someone else’s highlight reel.
God sees our heart — and that’s what matters most ❤️
๐ Bible Verse:
“Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else.”
— Galatians 6:4 ๐
A Short Prayer for You:
Dear God,
When I feel like I’m not doing enough, remind me that You see it all ๐
Help me stop comparing my journey with others.
Teach me to love myself as a mom — just as I am ๐
Thank You for being my strength in all the small, hidden moments.
Amen.
Have you ever felt less just because you didn’t “do it like the others”?
๐ญ You are not alone, dear.
